One of a kind.
Thrown and sculpted by hand in black grogged stoneware clay, this statement lamp blends functional design with quiet drama. Originally thrown in three sections and joined to form the body, the form was then shaped, tucked, and refined using hand-building techniques to create its flowing curves and layered contours. Two hollow tunnels pass through the body of the lamp, adding a sense of curiosity and movement—drawing the eye in and around the piece.
This was a technically challenging piece to make, taking weeks to complete. Each step had to be precisely timed, from forming and shaping to the drying process and final assembly. The body alone is a testament to both craftsmanship and patience, with every decision—curve, thickness, angle—made with the final silhouette and glow of light in mind.
Finished with antique brass fittings and paired with a black linen lampshade, the materials quietly echo the organic texture of the clay, creating a balanced contrast of form and finish.
Inspired by the wonder felt at the edge of the forest or the mouth of a cave—those quiet moments of intrigue and stillness—this piece brings that sense of discovery into the home. It is the only one of its kind and will not be repeated.
Suitable for a calm, contemporary space where it can be appreciated as both a source of light and a sculptural focal point.
