Pottery Experience Day for 2

Service Description

Come and spend a full day doing pottery. You'll get to try out each of the different stages of the ceramics process and I'll show you different ways and techniques to create pieces you'll love. Upon your arrival there will be refreshments served, a brief overview of the ceramics process and a tour of the studio. You will then spend the rest of the morning hand-building and getting used to the feel of the clay. I will show you different techniques to get you going and help you develop your skills. We will then break for lunch which is provided. In the afternoon I will give you a demonstration of how to throw on the potter's wheel and then you will get the chance to give it a go yourselves. After this we will have a short break and then head back to the studio. For the final part of the day you will get to paint and decorate a pot in a choice of glazes. You will get to keep all of the pots you've made on the day. They will all be dried out and bisque fired. I will then glaze them in your choice of glaze before they are fired again in the kiln. This process can take up to 10 weeks. I will let you know when your pieces are finished and ready to be collected.
